When we look around us the first thing that we notice are the colours. Bright or vibrant, dark or dull, colours make our existence more animated & more interesting. We never ponder over their proportion or quantities, they can be less or more, but never absent. Sky, trees, flowers, mountains, sea, birds, insects, animals, humans etcetera, all seem to be in perfect amalgamation of colours. We never give it a thought but sans colours, the world will surely look blank & flat, almost lifeless! In other words, their absence will make life expressionless & monotonous.
Sunset is different from Sunrise because of difference in shades. A Red Rose appears distinct from a Pink one. Even the clothes you wear are differentiated on the basis of hues.
‘Holi’ is about appreciating the presence of colours in your life. It is not just about smearing colours on the faces of your friends & family members. It encourages you to honour every tint of your existence, be all inclusive & make the best mandala out of it.
